OPERATOR MAINTENANCE
PRIMING WATER PUMP
PRIMING WATER PUMP FROM CAB
NOTE
Ensure water source is available before performing pump priming function.
1.
Prepare vehicle for required pumping operations.
2.
Start engine (TM 9-2320-422-10).
3.
Turn PUMP PTO switch (1) to on position.
Indicator light (2) will illuminate.
4.
Put HIGH IDLE switch (3) to ON position.
Indicator light (4) will illuminate.
5.
Enable cab pressure governor (5) operation (WP 0017).
CAUTION
If discharge gauge reading does not increase, or priming pump does not discharge
water to ground in 60 seconds, do not continue running priming pump.
Stop water
pump, or damage to equipment may result.
6.
Push and hold PUMP PRIME switch (6) to on position.
7.
Ensure pressure governor (5) displays water pressure on pump discharge display.
8.
If pressure governor (5) displays water pressure, release PUMP PRIME switch (6) to off position.
9.
Set pressure governor (5) to operating pressure (WP 0017).

CAUTION
Engine must be at idle before engaging PTO.
Failure to comply will result in
damage to PTO and/or transmission.
