M1090/M1094 FOUR-WAY RELIEF VALVE REPLACEMENT/REPAIR (CONT)
(10) Press and hold DUMP BED UP/DOWN switch (8)
in UP position until hydraulic oil temperature
reaches 140-160º F (60-70º C).
(11) Perform STE/ICE-R test #51 (TM 9-4910-571-
12&P).
(12) Observe pressure reading of 2825-2875 psi (19478-
19822 kPa).
(13) If pressure is incorrect, loosen lock nut (9) on
pressure reducing valve adjusting screw (10).
(14) Turn pressure reducing valve adjusting screw (10)
counter clockwise to lower pressure, clockwise to
raise pressure.
CAUTION
WARNING
Hydraulic oil temperature must be 140-
160
F (60-70 C) prior to performing
adjustment.
Failure to comply may result in
inaccurate test results.
NOTE
•
Holding DUMP BED UP/DOWN switch
in the UP position will force hydraulic oil
through relief valve and cause oil
temperature to rise.
•
Measure hydraulic oil temperature near
bottom of hydraulic reservoir.
•
Steps (10) through (14) require the aid
of an assistant.
Hydraulic components are hot when
hydraulic
oil
reaches
operating
temperature.
Use caution when handling
hydraulic components.
Wear gloves or use
rags to hold metal objects.
Failure to
comply may result in injury to personnel.
NOTE
Hold
pressure-reducing valve adjusting
screw while tightening lock nut.
