Install valve stem (Figure 7, Item 8) with new preformed packing (Figure 7, Item 9) on rim spud (Figure 7, Item
5) with nut (Figure 7, Item 7). Tighten nut to 70 to 80 lb-in (8 to 9 N·m).
4.
Install valve core (Figure 7, Item 1) into valve stem (Figure 7, Item 8).
5.
Install adapter (Figure 7, Item 2) on valve stem (Figure 7, Item 8).
CAUTION
If wheel studs are replaced, they must be torqued after 50 to 75 miles (80 to 120 km) of use.
Failure to comply may result in failure of wheel studs.
NOTE
•
If damaged studs were removed, perform Step (6).
•
Ensure flat edge of stud head is positioned parallel to edge of inner wheel.
6.
Install new studs (Figure 8, Item 2) in inner wheel (Figure 8, Item 3) until base of studs is solid against back
side of wheel (Figure 8, Item 3).

With the aid of an assistant, position inner wheel (Figure 8, Item 3) on wooden block with studs (Figure 8, Item
2) up.
