TRANSMISSION MAIN OIL FILTER ELEMENT REPLACEMENT (Sheet 2 of 7)

Using two jackscrews and 7/16 inch socket, loosen

filter assembly by installing bolts in holes (D) and

tightening evenly to withdraw filter assembly.

Using 7/16 inch socket, remove two 1/4 inch x 20 NF

x 3 inch jackscrews (D) from filters.

4.

Lift filter assembly (C) out of transmission and

remove gasket (E).

Throw gasket away.

NOTE

Some filters are secured with self-

locking nuts and do not require

lockwiring.

5.

Using diagonal cutting pliers, remove lockwire (F), if

present, securing nut on bottom of filter assembly

(C).
