With cannon and mount still elevated to approx 55°, measure gap between sector gear and sector gear
stop.

Depress cannon to approx 30°, measure gap between sector gear and sector gear stop.

If gap between sector gear and sector gear stop exceeds 1/16 ” (1.588 mm) with full shim pack (9) installed,
remove laminations from shim pack until 1/16 ” (1.588 mm) maximum dimension is obtained. Initial shim re-
moval may be accomplished by using the following table:

Optional shim removal beyond charted values may be required in order to obtain 1/16 (1.588 mm) maximum
gap. (If shim removal exceeds 0.180 in. (4.572 mm) add washer (7) under screw heads). Install new lock-
wire (5).

Install spring (4), eye bolt (3), flat washer (2) and new self-locking nut (1).

After cam has been properly shimmed and installed, arrows of sector gear, and spur gear sector must be
alined to assure weapon in long recoil position prior to elevating weapon above 45°.
