NOTE
Two types of oil pressure regulator (1) have been
used on these engines.
This task is the same
for both except as noted.
Check that housing (1) is not cracked. If housing is cracked, throw it
away and get a new one.
WARNING
Dry cleaning solvent is flammable. Do not use near an
open flame.
Keep a fire extinguisher nearby when solvent
is used.
Use only in well-ventilated places.
Failure to
do this may result in injury to personnel and damage
to equipment.
Check that mounting surface of housing (1) has no nicks, scratches or burrs.
Fix nicks, scratches, and burrs with a fine mill file or crocus cloth dipped in
dry cleaning solvent.
Check that oil passages (2) are clean and free from dirt. Clean out blocked
or dirty oil passages. Refer to para 4-3.
Check that two plunger bores (3) are not scored or worn. If plunger bores
are scored or worn, throw away housing and get a new one.
Check that threaded holes in housing (1) are not damaged. Fix minor thread
damage with a tap.
