WARNING
The voltage output of ignition unit (1) is strong enough
to cause a dangerous electrical shock. Do not touch any
bare wires or connections during operation. Refer to
decal on unit.
Check that ignition unit (1) has no cracks or dents. If ignition unit is
cracked or dented, get a new one.
To check ignition unit (1), join spark plug (2) to output cable assembly (3).
Ground pin (4) on spark plug (2) ignition unit (1).
Spark plug (2) should spark between pins (4 and 5) when 10 to 12-volt
direct current is applied to ignition unit (1). If spark plug does not
spark, check spark plug and output cable assembly (3).
Repair minor damage to ignition unit (1) by filing burrs on threads.
Throw away ignition unit (1) if spark plug does not spark, and get a new
one.
