Install spring hanger (Figure 3, Item 5), pin (Figure 3, Item 8), washer (Figure 3, Item 2), castle nut (Figure 3,
Item 4), and cotter pin (Figure 3, Item 3) on bracket (Figure 3, Item 1). Tighten castle nut to 35 lb-ft (47 N·m).

Continue tightening castle nut (Figure 3, Item 4) to align slot in nut (Figure 3, Item 4) with hole in pin (Figure
3, Item 8).

Install cotter pin (Figure 3, Item 3) in pin (Figure 3, Item 8).
NOTE
Perform Step (5) if grease fittings were removed.
5.
Install grease fitting (Figure 3, Item 7) on pin (Figure 3, Item 8).
WARNING
Spring weighs 163 lbs (74 kg). Attach suitable lifting device prior to removal. Failure to comply
may result in injury or death to personnel.
WARNING
Keep hands and fingers out of spring pinhole or injury to personnel may result.
6.
With the aid of an assistant, attach lifting device and raise spring (Figure 4, Item 1) into position.

NOTE
•
Front of spring has a double loop around spring bushing. Ensure spring is installed
correctly.
•
Do not install front pin all the way in. There must be enough room between pin and
drawbar mount to install the castle nut.
