Transmission Oil
Level Hot Check
WARNING
Surface may be HOT on contact and cause
burns to exposed skin. Do not touch surface
with bare hands. Failure to comply may
result in personnel injury.
NOTE
Ensure transmission oil temperature is at
normal operating range (between 160°F
and 280°F).
1. Park vehicle on a level surface (WP 0015) with
parking brake applied.
2. Shut down main engine (WP 0017) and wait three to
five minutes.
3. Open left side engine deck exhaust grille and
exhaust deflector (WP 0029).
4. Open transmission oil filler tube access doors.

5. Remove oil gauge rod from oil filler tube and clean
oil gauge rod.
6. Insert oil gauge rod into transmission oil filler tube.
7. Remove oil gauge rod and verify that oil level is
between ADD and FULL marks.
