Equipment Conditions:
Second range single disk brakes on
workbench. See page 4-432.
1. REMOVE PLUG (1) FROM EACH
SECOND RANGE SINGLE DISK
BRAKE (2).

Using 3/8-inch drive ratchet handle and
3/16-inch socket wrench attachment,
unscrew plug (1).
Remove and discard preformed
packing (3).
Repeat steps 1a and 1b for remaining
plug (1).
CAUTION
Shaft collar is installed under spring pressure.
Do not lose parts when removing pin.
2. REMOVE SPRING (4).
a. Using 9/16-inch open end wrench,
press shaft collar (5) and spring (4).
b. Remove pin (6) from brake piston
rod (7).
c. Slowly release
Remove collar
pressure on spring (4)
(5) and spring.
