FRAME 2

3.
4.
5.
Put spring retainer (1) over outer valve spring (2) as shown. Using valve
spring compressor, squeeze spring retainer against springs so that groove
(3) in valve stem (4) sticks through hole in spring retainer.
Put two spring retainer locks (5) over groove (3) in valve stem (4) and hold
retainer locks together.
While holding retainer locks (5) together, slowly work valve spring
compressor to let all tension off valve springs (2).
CAUTION
Be sure spring pressure is holding retainer locks (5)
in place in groove on valve stem before letting go of
retainer locks.
If retainer locks are not locked to
valve stem, assembly may fly apart when retainer
locks are let go and parts will be lost.
Let go of retainer locks (5).
Take off valve spring compressor.
Do frames 1 and 2 again for other two exhaust valves and for three intake
valves.
