NOTE
Readings must be within limits given in table 4-55. If
readings are not within given limits, throw away spring
and get a new one.
Do this frame for all six inner valve springs (1).
Check that inner valve spring (1) is not worn, cracked or damaged. Throw
away damaged inner valve springs and get new ones.
Measure free length of inner valve spring (1).
Using spring tester, measure load needed to squeeze inner valve spring
(1) to a length of 1.33 inches.
Using spring tester, measure
to a length of 1.78 inches.
Using spring tester, measure
GO TO FRAME 2
load needed to squeeze inner valve spring (1)
solid height of inner valve spring (1).
