NOTE
Readings must be within limits given in table 4-57.
The letter L shows a loose fit.
If readings are not
within given limits, throw away part and get a new
one.
Rear end of rocker arm shaft (1) has a locating dowel
pin (2).
Rocker arm bearing surfaces of rocker arm shaft (1) are
surface areas near the first, third, fourth, fifth, sixth,
and eighth oil holes in rocker arm shaft, counting from
front to rear.
Bearing surfaces will look shiny on used
rocker arm shafts.

Measure inside diameter of six rocker arm bearings (3). Note each measurement
and which rocker arm it was taken on.
2.
Measure outside diameter of six rocker
shaft (1).
Note each measurement and

3.
Measure fit of each rocker arm bearing
