NOTE
Four different crankshafts (2) can be used in these en-
gines.
They differ in the diameters of the main bearing
journals and connecting rod journals. The four crank-
shafts are:
early model standard size, late model stand-
ard
size,
0.0100-inch
undersize,
and
0.0200-inch
under-
size.
Look at flywheel mounting face (1) of crankshaft (2). If no number is
stamped here, this is a standard size crankshaft. Note this for future use.
Look at flywheel mounting face (1) of crankshaft (2). If the number 0.010
or 0.0100 is stamped here, this is a 0.0100-inch undersize crankshaft. Note
this for future use.
Look at flywheel mounting face (1) of crankshaft (2). If the number 0.020
or 0.0200 is stamped here, this is a 0.0200-inch undersize crankshaft. Note
this for future use.
IF CRANKSHAFT (2) WAS CHANGED DURING THIS TASK, GO TO FRAME 32.
