SECTION II INSTALLATION AND PRELIMINARY ROUTING OF HDC CABLE

ASSEMBLIES

NOTE

There are three HDC electrical cable assemblies installed in vehicle. Each cable

assembly interfaces with different vehicle assemblies and components and all three

cables attach to the umbilical cable disconnect bracket in driver’s compartment. The

three cable assemblies are internally routed to HDC components and assemblies that

interface with vehicle hydraulic system assemblies and components in bowl area and on

underside of vehicle. Two individuals are required to properly route cables to various

parts of vehicle.

NOTE

Steps a and b below apply to Figure 5--1. Reference should also be made to FO 5--1.

a.

While standing in bowl area, uncoil single connector end J1 (2) of upper cable assembly W2, 12496954,

(1) and feed cable assembly up through access cover opening in upper portion of bowl area (created by

removal of access cover modified in Chapter 3, Section V) into driver’s compartment.

b.

Carefully route cable connector W2J1 up through access cover opening to back of umbilical cable

disconnect bracket, 12496964, (3) as shown on Figure 5--1.
