(6) Remove the sockethead screw and flatwashers from the shift housing (fig. 5-47); then
remove pin.
It may be necessary to use a screwdriver to pry pin up.

(7) Remove rubber boot; then remove assembled shift fork and timing shaft from housing.
(8) Remove the four hexhead screws (23, fig. 5-49) and Iockwashers (22) from the commutator
end housing (2) and remove the assembly (end housing and brush rigging assembly) and two thrust
washers (15) and (16) from the field ring (fig. 5-48).
