If necessary to replace rear thrust bearing or radial bearing, remove with suitable puller
(fig. 12-25).

CAUTIO N
The pinion gear and ring gear are a matched
set and have common identification num-
bers etched on each. Before assembly, check
numbers.
a. Reassemble the Pinion and Cage Assembly.

If new cups are to be installed, press firmly against pinion bearing cage shoulders.
(2)
Lubricate bearings and cups with gear lube (item 30, App B).
