8. Install new hook-type metal seal ring (Figure 8, Item 12) onto retainer (Figure 8, Item 13).
NOTE
Petrolatum applied to a hook-type seal ring can reduce the possibility of breakage by helping
the seal ring move into place with less friction.
9. Coat seal ring (Figure 8, Item 12) with petrolatum.
