b. Cleaning, Inspection, and Repair.

paragraphs 6-2 through 6-4 .

(1) Inspect generator drive gearshaft, oi l

seal, and bearings against limits specified in the

overhaul standards (table 6-5). Replace part s

not meeting these requirements .

(2) Refer to paragraphs 6-3c and 6-3e fo r

inspection of generator adapter and studs. Refe r

to paragraph 6-4e and table 6-6 when replacing

adapter studs .

1. Remove generator adapter oil seal from the adapter

using a suitable arbor press.

Note.

It is not necessary to remove generato r

drive gearshaft ball bearings unless inspectio n

(para 6-3d) indicates replacement is needed .

2. Press generator drive gearshaft from upper ball

bearings (A).

3. Press the gearshaft from lower ball bearing (B) in the

same manner.
