a. Disassembly

(1) Using puller, remove pulley (1) from coolant pump shaft (2).

(2) Remove seven bolts (3), cover (4), and

gasket (5) from coolant pump assembly

(6). Discard gasket.

(3) If necessary, remove large pipe plug (7)

and small pipe plug (8) from coolant

pump assembly (6).

Do not press shaft into bearing

assembly. Pressure on shaft

will distort bearings and de-

stroy bearing assembly.

(4) Place bearing inserter (9) on outer race of

shaft and bearing assembly (10). Press

shaft and bearing assembly, seal (11),

and impeller (12) from housing (13).

(5) Support impeller (12) on bed of arbor

press. Place a short 1/2 inch-diameter rod

(14) on shaft. Press shaft and bearing

assembly (10) out of impeller.

(6) Remove seal (11) from shaft and bearing

assembly (10). Discard seal.
