Rest cylinder head on its side and remove six screws (21), six Iockwashers (22), and three cam

follower guides (23). Discard Iockwashers.

Remove nine cam follower spring retainers (24) from bores in cylinder head.

Pull nine cam followers (25) and nine push rod (20) assemblies from bottom of cylinder head.

Remove spring (26), push rod nut (19), upper spring seat (27), and lower spring seat (28) from

nine push rods.

Remove twelve exhaust valves as

follows:

Position cylinder head on its side.

Using valve spring compressor (29),

compress valve spring (30). Remove

two tapered valve locks (31).

Remove upper spring seat (32), valve

spring (30), lower spring seat (33),

and exhaust valve (34).

Remove six fuel nipples (3) and six

copper washers (35) from cylinder head.

Discard copper washers.

If necessary, remove three expansion

plugs (36) from cylinder head, one from

inboard side and two from outboard side.

Discard plugs.

If necessary, remove sleeve (37) from

inboard side of cylinder head.
