Inspect fuse plug (38). If fuse plug is melted, cylinder head assembly was overheated.
Thoroughly inspect cylinder head assembly for cracks and other heat related damage.

hardware on rear of right
cylinder head assembly.
Remove two screws (40), two Iockwashers
(41), cover (39), and gasket (42) from rear
of cylinder head. Discard Iockwashers and
gasket.
If necessary, remove four studs (43) from
outboard side of cylinder head.
Remove fuse plug (38) and adapter (44)
from outboard side of cylinder head.
Remove three expansion plugs (45) from
outboard side of cylinder head, Discard plugs.
Remove four pipe plugs (46) from inboard
side of cylinder head.
Remove pipe plug (47) from each
cylinder head.

539F use one threaded plug
(48) at rear of left cylinder head.
