If readings are not within given limits, throw away

part and get a new one.

Measure free length of two bypass valve springs (1).

Using spring tester, measure load needed to squeeze each of two bypass valve

springs (1) down to 1.380 inches.

Using spring tester, measure maximum solid height of two bypass valve springs

(1) .
