1.

Mount dial indicator (1) so indicator pointer (2) rests on end of camshaft (3).

2.

Push camshaft (3) in as far as it will go and set dial indicator (1) to zero.

3.

Using heavy screwdriver between camshaft gear (4) and cylinder block (5),

pry camshaft (3) out as far as it will go and hold it.

4.

Read dial indicator (1).

End play of camshaft (3) must be between 0.002 to

0.015 inch.
