Lift off the interaxle differential forward side gear, helical drive gear assembly and

thrust washer from the interaxle differential nest Iocated to the top of the carrier.

Do not press the side gear out by the

gear teeth; damage to the teeth sur-

faces will occur.

Separate the interaxle forward side gear from the helical drive gear (fig. 11-14). Place the

assembly in a press and use a sleeve with an outer diameter that will fit the front hub portion of the side

gear.
