CLEAN, INSPECT, AND REPAIR
1.
Inspect gasket for separation, tears, and cracks. Replace separated or damaged gasket.
2.
Clean cover and gasket mating surface with cleaning compound.
INSTALLATION
WARNING
Adhesive, primer, sealant compounds, and isopropyl alcohol are toxic and flammable. These
compounds are toxic to eyes, skin, and respiratory tract. Continued exposure can make you
dizzy and irritate your eyes and throat.
Always use in well ventilated areas, away from heat, sparks, and flames. Do not breathe fumes.
Do not allow into contact with skin and eyes. Use goggles or face shield and protective gloves.

If gasket is being replaced, apply a light coat of adhesive to one side of new gasket. Allow adhesive to become tacky.
2.
Place new gasket (1) on cleaned mating side of cover (2). Align mounting holes in cover and gasket.
3.
Clean four screws (3) with cleaning compound. Apply antiseize compound sparingly to external threads of screws.
4.
Place cover (2) on hull. Secure with four screws (3) and washers (4). TIGHTEN SCREWS TO 40-50 LB-FT (54-68
N·M) TORQUE. Use torque wrench.
