NOTE
Main bearing caps with bearing halves (1) and main
bearing saddles (2) are called by numbers one to seven
counting from front to rear of crankcase (3).
The number one main bearing cap (1) has oil pump idler
gear shaft (4) .
1.
Put number one main bearing cap with bearing half (1) on number one bearing
saddle (2).
Oil pump idler gear shaft (4) should face out.
2.
Coat two bolts (5) and washers (6) lightly with engine lubricating oil. Put in
and hand tighten two bolts and washers.
3.
Using torque wrench, tighten two bolts (5) to 80 to 90 pound-feet.
4.
Using torque wrench, tighten two bolts (5) to 115 to 120 pound-feet.
