NOTE
Main bearing caps (1) with bearing halves (2) and main
bearing saddles (3) are called by numbers one to seven
counting from front to rear of crankcase (4).
Number four main bearing cap (1) is called main thrust
bearing cap. It is wider than other main bering caps.
Number four main bearing saddle (3) is called main thrust
bearing saddle. It is wider than other main bearing
saddles.
Put main thrust bearing cap (1) with bearing half (2) on main thrust bearing
saddle (3). Mounting holes in main thrust bearing cap must line up with
mounting holes in main thrust bearing saddle.
Coat two bolts (5) and washers (6) lightly with engine lubricating oil. Put
in and hand tighten two bolts and washers.
Using torque wrench, tighten two bolts (5) to 80 to 90 pound-feet.
Using torque wrench, tighten two bolts (5) to 115 to 120 pound-feet.
