1.
Using 0.010-inch feeler gage (1) and straight edge (2), check that pressure
plate (3) is not warped more than 0.010 inch.
2.
Check that grooves in pressure plate (3) are not deeper than 0.010 inch.
3.
Check that clutch pressure plate (3) has no overheating, rubbing against
other metal parts or broken springs.
4.
Check that there are no open cracks and heavy heat discoloration on pressure
plate (3).
5.
Check that there are no closely grouped hairline cracks which go to inner
or outer edge of pressure plate (3).
6.
If pressure plate (3) is damaged or worn, throw away pressure plate and get
a new one.
