CAUTION

Use only rope sling to lift crankshaft. Cable or chain

sling may damage bearing surfaces of the crankshaft.

Bearing surfaces should not be touched with bare

hands,

Crankshaft bearing surfaces should be wrapped

with cheesecloth when handling.

NOTE

Oil all crankshaft bearing surfaces.

1. Put rope sling (1) on crankshaft (2) as shown. Hook rope sling

onto hoist hook (3).

Lift crankshaft (2) over engine block (4).

WARNING

Crankshaft (2) is very heavy. Do not let fingers or hand

get between crankshaft and engine block (4). Do not let

crankshaft bump engine block. Failure to use proper

caution may result in damage to equipment and injury to

personnel.

Guide crankshaft (2) into engine block (4).

Lower crankshaft (2) into engine block (4).
