NOTE
Intake valve seats (1) are bigger than exhaust valve
seats.
Check that three intake valve seats (1) are not cracked or loose.
If any
intake valve seat is cracked or loose, take it out using engine valve seat
knockout tool.
Check that three intake valve seats (1) are not burned or pitted. If any
intake valve seat is burned or pitted, take it out using engine valve seat
knockout tool.
Set cylinder head (2) on side as shown.
Coat face if a new intake valve (3)
with Prussian blue. Put new intake valve in cylinder head so that it rests
against any intake valve seat (1).
Turn new intake valve (3) 1/2-turn in either direction.
Push new intake valve (3) straight out of cylinder head (2). Check for an
even coating of Prussian blue all the way around intake valve seat (1) just
checked.
If there is not an even coating, tag intake valve seat just checked
for grinding by machine shop.
Do steps 3 through 5 again for other two intake valve seats (1).
