Readings must be within limits given in table 4-47.

The letter T shows a tight fit. If readings are not

within given limits, throw away part and get a new

one.

Measure inside diameter of valve guide bores in cylinder head (1).

NOTE

Early model valve guides (2) are not stocked. Limits

given in table 4-47 for early model valve guides are

for reference purposes only. Use limits for late model

valve guides.

Measure outside diameter of new valve guides (2).

Measure fit of each new valve guide (2) in its valve guide bore in cylinder

head (1).
