Check that crankshaft gear (1) is not cracked. If crankshaft gear is cracked,
throw it away and get a new one.
Check that teeth of crankshaft gear (1) are not worn or pitted. If crankshaft
gear has pitted or badly worn teeth, throw it away and get a new one.
WARNING
Dry cleaning solvent is flammable. Do not use near an
open flame.
Keep a fire extinguisher nearby when sol-
vent is used.
Use only in well-ventilated places. Fail-
ure to do this may result in injury to personnel and
damage to equipment.
Check that teeth of crankshaft gear (1) have no burrs or sharp raised metal
edges.
Fix small burrs and raised metal edges with a fine mill file or crocus
cloth dipped in dry cleaning solvent.
Check that threads in two puller holes (2) in crankshaft gear (1) are not
damaged.
Fix minor thread damage with a tap. If threads are badly damaged,
throw away crankshaft gear and get a new one.
