Use care when removing ta-

chometer adapter. Tachometer

drive shaft is fragile and subject

to breakage.

Remove two bolts (1), two Iockwashers (2),

tachometer adapter (3), and gasket (4) from

flywheel housing. Discard Iockwashers and

gasket.

Installation

Install gasket (4), tachometer adapter (3),

two Iockwashers (2), and two bolts (1) on

flywheel housing. Do not tighten bolts.

Insert alignment tool (5) into tachometer

adapter. (3) and over end of drive shaft (6).

Adjust adapter so there is no drive shaft

binding on inside diameter of tool when

crankshaft is rotated one revolution.

Torque bolts (1) to 13-17 Ib-ft (18-23 N•m).

Remove alignment tool (5) from

tachometer adapter (3).
